Life

A large amount of what is believed to be known about Mola Patt Sarkar(R.A)comes through legends, and is subjective; to the point that there isn’t even agreement among historians concerning his precise date and place of birth. Some information about his life has been pieced together from his own writings. Other "facts" seem to have been passed down through oral tradition. His ancestors had migrated from Jalalabad (Afghanistan) Khorasaan region and settled in Gadoon and Hazara Abbottabad Dhamtour. His spiritual teacher was the Qadiri Sufi Bu Ali Shah(His real name was Shaykh Sharfuddin but he is famous by the title Bu Ali Shah Qalandar ) . Mola Patt Qalandar 's time was marked with communal strife between Muslims,Hindus and Sikhs. But in that age Baba Mola Patt was a saint of hope and peace for the citizens of KPK Dhamtour Abbottabad Hazara.Mola Patt died in Dhamtour Abbottabad. Tradition has it that Islamic scholars of the time forbade local imams to carry out Mola Patt Qalandar's funeral, considering him an infidel. However, after he was buried outside of the city, his tomb started attracting thousands of pilgrims from the region, and soon the Cornerr of Dhamtour moved to that place. Today, a large festival (urs) is celebrated at the tomb every year from 18th feb to 25 feb.Bābā Mola Patt Qalandar's had No children and daughters.

Legacy

One of Mola Patt's most important contributions to Pashto literature was his development of the language for literary purposes. Whereas Sanskrit, Arabic, Turkish and Persian had historically been considered the languages of the learned and the elite, and used in monastic centres.Pashto was generally considered a less refined folk language. Although earlier poets had written in a primitive Pashto, before Mola Patt's there was little in Pashto and urdu literature apart from traditional and anonymous ballads.By using Pashto as the language of poetry, Mola Patt's laid the basis for a vernacular Pashto literature that would be developed later.

The small tomb of Mola patt Qalandar is made of white marble with two doors, one facing south and , and the second facing west Darwāza. There is also a long coveredwall. Inside the tomb are small and long graves.
